Swioz Viewer exists to make publicly available account data readable, structured, and portable — without crossing the line into private territory. We believe public data should be accessible to researchers, journalists, and analysts without requiring brittle scripts or compromising ethics.
A read-only
instrument.
Swioz was built out of frustration with the existing landscape. Researchers were either stuck copy-pasting into spreadsheets, running fragile scripts that broke every week, or using shady tools that asked for login credentials and operated in legal gray areas.
We thought there was a better way. A viewer that treats public data as a published document — something to be read, structured, and understood, not aggressively scraped. A tool that never asks for your password, never interacts with the source account, and never leaves a footprint.
Swioz is strictly read-only. It sees what a logged-out browser sees. It structures that data into a clean schema, and it hands it back to you in whatever format your workflow demands. No more, no less.
Four principles, non-negotiable.
Public means public.
We only read data that is explicitly published to the public internet. No bypassing access controls, no viewing private content, no credential handling. If a logged-out browser can’t see it, neither can Swioz.
Do no harm to the source.
Our capture engine is rate-aware. We space out requests to stay within the source platform’s own publishing rhythm. We don’t hammer servers, we don’t trigger anti-bot protections, and we don’t get IPs blocked.
Structured, not scraped.
Raw HTML is a mess. We normalize every capture into a unified schema — consistent timestamps, typed fields, and cross-linked references. You get data ready for analysis, not a parsing headache.
Ephemeral by default.
We don’t hoard data. Captures live in your session for 30 days and then they’re gone from our infrastructure. If you want to keep it, download the export. Your data warehouse is your responsibility.

How we got here.
A spreadsheet too far
After spending yet another weekend manually copying public profile data into a spreadsheet for a research project, the founder decided there had to be a better, safer way to view public account data.
Read-only, structured, clean
The first version of Swioz was a local script that pulled public posts and normalized them into a JSON file. It worked, it was fast, and most importantly, it didn’t require a login. It was shared with a few researchers and journalists who immediately asked for more.
From script to surface
Swioz evolved from a command-line tool into a visual interface. The scattered-postcard layout was inspired by the physical evidence boards used in investigative journalism — a way to see every piece of a profile at once, then organize it by type.
An instrument for the public record
Swioz Viewer v3.2 is live. It supports multiple public sources, exports to four formats, and is used daily by newsrooms, universities, and independent analysts. We’re still building it with the same ethos: public data, structured, read-only.
